Palliative care teams aim to improve the quality of life for both patients and their families.<\/p><\/div>\n                                            <div class=\"ct-tab-content \" id=\"ct_tabs-748d277-2385a82\"><ul class=\"i8Z77e\"><li class=\"TrT0Xe\">Relieve pain and other symptoms.<\/li><li class=\"TrT0Xe\">Address your emotional and spiritual concerns, and those of your caregivers.<\/li><li class=\"TrT0Xe\">Coordinate your care.<\/li><li class=\"TrT0Xe\">Improve your quality of life during your illness.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n                                            <div class=\"ct-tab-content \" id=\"ct_tabs-748d277-05322fb\"><p>A palliative care team is made up of multiple different professionals that work with the patient, family, and the patient's other doctors to provide medical, social,\u00a0emotional, and practical\u00a0support. The team is comprised of palliative care specialist doctors and nurses, and includes others such as social workers, nutritionists, and chaplains. A person's team may vary based on their needs and level of care. To begin palliative care, a person's health care provider may refer him or her to a palliative care specialist.
